Questioning the questioner
The Ministry of Interior's Provincial Administration Inspection launched an investigation based on the document dated 16.11.2023 against Mustafa Tunç Soyer, the Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality:
"During the "9th of September 100th Year Program," commemorating the 100th anniversary of İzmir's liberation from enemy occupation, Mayor Mustafa Tunç Soyer, on September 9, 2022, addressed the public. In his speech, he criticized the Ottoman State and its leaders, stating, "100 years ago, those governing these lands were in a state of negligence, misguidance, and even betrayal. They never considered the young, women, children, or the future, and solely for maintaining the splendor in the palace, they threw the entire nation into the fire. They trampled our human dignity, our passion for independence, and our right to live, surrendering and surrendering." This statement led to allegations of insulting the memory of a person and openly inciting hatred and hostility among the public..."
After learning that Soyer's investigated remarks were originally made by Atatürk and taken from his "Söylev" (Speech), the investigating authority should have reviewed "Söylev" and withdrawn the investigation upon realizing the truth. However, this did not happen. Thus, let's read page 470 of "Nutuk", published in 2005 by the Atatürk Research Center:
"Indeed, it's tragic to even consider that a despicable creature like Vahdettin, who saw his freedom and life endangered within his nation, could lead a nation for even a minute! Thankfully, this lowlife was ousted from the throne he inherited by the nation and showed his true colors. The Turkish nation's proactive stance in this matter is commendable.
A weak, despicable, emotionless creature can seek refuge under the protection of any foreigner who accepts them. However, claiming such a creature represents all Muslims as the Caliph is certainly not accurate. This notion can only be true if all Muslim nations are enslaved."
If Atatürk described Vahdettin as a "despicable," there's no ground for the Ministry of Interior to open an investigation. Especially after reading Vahdettin's asylum letter to then-U.S. President Calvin Coolidge, starting with "To the Honorable Mr. Coolidge, President of the United States of America."
Dear readers, as a patriot (!), I want to report to the Ministry of Interior about a book. The book is named: "Vahdettin Dossier: Documents of Treason" (Cumhuriyet Books, 2023) by Mehmet Alev Coşkun.
Leaving aside Vahdettin's secret agreements with the British, decrees against him by religious leaders, rebellions incited by the monarchy, executions, the signing of the Treaty of Sevres, and attempts to dismantle the National Struggle, let's make a meaningful excerpt from the mentioned book:
Espionage: Theft and Delivery of Nationalist Documents to the British: A committee led by the Foreign Minister of the Ankara government, Yusuf Kemal Tengirşenk, was appointed by the Assembly for negotiations in Paris and London. When the committee arrived in Istanbul on 7 February 1922 to travel to Europe, the private secretary of Minister Tengirşenk stayed at a relative's house. The police secretly entered the house and photographed six important documents from the secretary's bag. These documents were delivered to the British High Commissioner Rumbold by Sultan Vahdettin himself. In essence, Sultan Vahdettin was handing over secret documents of the National Struggle to the British, engaging in "espionage." (p.18.)
Is this enough?
