The government shelters under Arab imperialism
With the establishment of the Republic of Turkiye by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the influence of Arab Imperialism significantly diminished through the adoption of secularism, the liberation of the Turkish language from the influences of Arabic and Persian, and the opening of doors to political, cultural, scientific, philosophical, and artistic developments in Europe.
Atatürk first fought on the front lines against the colonial and imperialist powers in Europe, and then through the Enlightenment Reforms, he battled against the cultural imperialism carried out by Arabs through religion and religious dogma since the 7th century.
During the Republic era, Arab cultural imperialism was reactivated in Anatolia starting in 1950 with the support of the USA.
Imam Hatip schools, Quran courses, theology faculties, and the training of imams, muftis, religious figures, and experts were turned into centers of anti-secular movements, replacing religion with religious fanaticism. At the same time, religious orders and communities spread once again.
Islam was taught not through the interpretations of Anatolian figures such as Yunus Emre, Mevlana, Hacı Bektaş Veli, Pir Sultan Abdal, Şeyh Bedrettin, Karacaoğlan, Köroğlu, and Dadaloğlu, but through the hadiths and interpretations of Arab religious figures. For decades, and to this day, the minds of the youth were brainwashed.
The religious understanding forcibly imposed on Anatolia and its people by the caliph, the sheikh al-Islam, and the ulema during the Ottoman era was revived.
For decades, these so-called educational institutions and centers functioned as cultural attachés of Saudi Arabia.
American and European imperialism, which never wanted Turkiye to be a strong, independent state developed in every field through Enlightenment Reforms, always directly or indirectly supported these movements, pushing Turkiye into ignorance to make it a satellite and colonial state.
Under the rule of the AKP, the representative of Islamist politics, the assimilation of Anatolian culture by Arab culture reached its peak.
In areas such as politics, economy, transportation, communication, tourism, real estate, land investment, and foreign policy, cooperation with Arab countries, most of which are supported by the USA and have not progressed a bit on the path to democracy and Enlightenment, was prioritized.
Under AKP rule, Turkiye has been turned into the backyard of Arab countries.
In recent years, due to internal wars instigated by imperialist states, the sheltering of millions of illegal Arab refugees in Turkiye, and even the sale of citizenship, mark the final stage of the strategy to Arabize Anatolia.
Turkiye is being condemned to monarchy and theocracy by reversing its demographic structure.
Dear readers, as you can see, the esteemed philosopher Örsan K. Öymen has thoroughly examined the impact of Arab Imperialism on Turkiye, including the current problems it has caused.
I have quoted this beautiful, comprehensive, and explanatory article to place Arab Imperialism in its historical context and to clearly see the devastation it has caused in our society.
Now it is time to address one of the most well-known issues in political, social, and human sciences: the government's efforts to regress society through education.
This will be the subject of a third article I will write on Sunday.
