The People's Alliance embodies the height of hypocrisy
"It's certain that the main opposition's task has become more challenging now. On one side, there's the struggle against the People's Alliance, and on the other, they have to deal with the IYI Party (Good Party).
The question on everyone's mind is: Will CHP collaborate with HEDEP (HDP)?
HEDEP Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan stated that the trend in the Executive Committee was to enter local elections in 81 provinces with their candidates and that this decision would be presented to the Central Committee. Considering Özel's statements directed at Kurdish voters after becoming the party leader, even if an official alliance is not announced, there will likely be communication between the two parties for collaboration in at least some metropolitan municipalities.
Under such circumstances, the People's Alliance will probably resort to using the 'terrorism card' and misinformation to influence voters, as they did before May 14th.”
After the IYI Party rejected CHP’s collaboration offer for the local elections, I made the above prediction in this column on December 6, 2023. It appears that the anticipated has occurred.
THE TERRORISM CARD IS AGAIN IN PLAY
President Erdoğan, while speaking about the "joint declaration" debate following the killing of 12 soldiers by the PKK, said, "Political parties are coming together, but the CHP, Atatürk's party, shamelessly positions itself alongside extensions of the separatist organization. The electoral alliance that CHP has formed with the terrorist organization has turned into an ideological fusion."
The perception management tactic used in the general elections will be employed again in the local elections. What the opposition needs to do is to reach out to the voters and expose the truth.
Firstly, it should be emphasized that repeating the same incidents before every election and seeking political gain over martyrs is a great evil for this country. It must be revealed who is behind the provocations occurring at martyrs' funerals.
It should be explained that at the funeral in Gaziantep, the wreath sent by Özgür Özel was torn apart by provocateur Kenan Öztürk, a candidate for AKP deputy and that at the funeral in Manisa, the martyr's family condemned the protest against Özel.
WORDS AND ACTIONS OF AKP MEMBERS REGARDING THE PKK
"We were the ones who decriminalized calling [Abdullah] Öcalan 'Mr.' and opening PKK flags" (Former Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç),
"I was the one who sent the person to talk with the PKK, if anyone has a problem, they should speak up" (Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, 2012), "We included Öcalan in life. We gave him a TV. Thus, he can watch his team and see what's happening in Turkey" (RTE, 2013),
"Abdullah Öcalan is the leader of the Kurds. His messages are also our thoughts" (Beşir Atalay, former state minister),
"In my opinion, the PKK is not a terrorist organization. It's a political movement trying to implement a certain political program in its own territory" (AKP Central Decision and Executive Board member Orhan Miroğlu) – it should be stated that these are the words of AKP members!
It should be reminded that those who sat at the table with the PKK in Oslo, those who established tent courts at the border and allowed terrorists carrying PKK flags to enter,
Those who brought Osman Öcalan onto TRT Kürdi before the 2019 local elections,
And those who permitted academic Associate Professor Dr. Ali Kemal Özcan to meet with Öcalan in İmralı and allowed the announcement of his so-called “impartiality letter” intervening in the elections to the public, are all from the AKP!
While the AKP directly engages with the terrorist organization PKK, it attacks the CHP for discussing election collaboration with DEM (former HDP), which has a group in the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
Didn't the AKP delegation led by Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ visit the HDP group in November 2022 to discuss the constitutional amendment regarding the headscarf issue!
Another hypocrisy that needs to be emphasized is that of the MHP. Bahçeli remains silent against the separatist statements calling for a "state system" by HÜDA PAR, the partner of the People's Alliance.
Such hypocrisy can only be found in the People's Alliance. It's essential to explain this to the people through rallies, TV screens, and videos on social media until March 31st.
