Zambia plunged into darkness amid nationwide blackout
Zambia experienced a nationwide power outage Sunday, said government-owned power utility Zesco.

"Zesco Limited informs the nation that the country has experienced a power system disturbance today, Nov. 24, at 20:15 hours (1815GMT) leading to loss of power supply that has affected the whole country. The corporation is working diligently to resolve the unplanned outage and power restoration is underway," Zesco acting managing director Justin Loongo said in a statement in the capital, Lusaka.
Loongo said the nation would be kept updated on the development, adding "we regret the unplanned loss of supply and seek our customers' support and patience."
