Shocking allegations from the Israel press: Details of the Haniyeh assassination revealed

The UK-based Jewish newspaper The Jewish Chronicle has made startling claims regarding the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, alleging that he was killed by explosives planted by two Iranian operatives from the Ansar al-Mahdi security unit, which is affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and reportedly hired by MOSSAD. The paper also reported that the Iranian assassins were smuggled out of the country just an hour after the incident.

As the repercussions of Haniyeh's death in Iran continue to reverberate, The Jewish Chronicle has presented striking details about the assassination in a report by Elon Perry. According to the report, Haniyeh was killed by an explosive device placed under his bed by two Iranian operatives from the Ansar al-Mahdi unit, who had been allegedly recruited by MOSSAD with a promise of a large sum of money and safe passage to a Northern European country.

The report suggests that this fact was uncovered through the analysis of security camera footage from the day of the assassination, revealing that the Iranian operatives entered the room where Haniyeh was to stay using a key. The operatives were seen leaving the room three minutes later and exiting the building without issue, thanks to the recognition of a security guard who allowed them to leave the guesthouse without any problems.

According to the report, the Iranian assassins were extracted from Iran by MOSSAD within an hour of completing their mission.

Bomb Planted 9 Hours Before Detonation

The security camera analysis also debunked claims that the bomb had been planted weeks or months earlier. It was found that the bomb was placed under Haniyeh's bed at 4:23 PM local time on the day of the assassination, approximately 9 hours before he entered the room. The explosion, triggered remotely, occurred at 1:37 AM.

Waiting for the Right Moment

The report details that MOSSAD agents, who had been operating in Tehran for a long time, organized the assassination while waiting for the perfect opportunity. The agency reportedly acted after confirming Haniyeh’s visit to Tehran for the inauguration ceremony of Iran's new president, which was confirmed by intercepting phone calls among the event organizers and guests.

Waiting for the Lights to Go Out

According to The Jewish Chronicle, MOSSAD undertook extensive preparations before the assassination. Several agents were deployed to the area to identify potential escape routes and assess the building's security measures, but the location of the building on a hill presented challenges.

As a result, five Israeli agents in green camouflage climbed tall trees on the hill to confirm the vehicle color, license plate, and identity as soon as Haniyeh entered the building. Another MOSSAD agent monitored Haniyeh’s room through the window, signaling the bomb operator once the Hamas leader was asleep. The bomb was detonated after the lights were turned off, resulting in Haniyeh’s death.
