Putin, Pezeshkian discuss Middle East, Gaza, regional stability

Putin emphasized the importance of resolving the Syrian crisis comprehensively while respecting its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

“We are ready to provide the necessary support to the Syrian people to normalize the situation, deliver urgent humanitarian assistance, and initiate a comprehensive post-conflict resolution process,” Putin said.

He underscored the importance of dialogue for Syrians to determine their future and expressed hope for their success in overcoming the challenges of the transition period.

Addressing the Israel-Hamas agreement on the Gaza Strip, Putin stressed the need to increase the volume of humanitarian aid as stipulated in the agreement.

“We hope this will contribute to improving the humanitarian situation in Gaza and achieving long-term stability,” Putin said.

He highlighted the importance of maintaining initiatives to find a comprehensive resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on internationally recognized principles, including the establishment of a Palestinian state coexisting in peace and security with Israel.

On South Caucasus, Putin discussed Russia’s cooperation with Iran in the region and emphasized the mutual benefits of preserving peace and stability.

The Russian president also underscored the significance of upholding international law and building international relations based on the principles of the UN.
