Peskov informed journalists that Syria will indeed be on the agenda in the talks between Putin and Erdoğan. "Undoubtedly, this topic will be on the agenda. It will certainly be addressed in today's meeting," Peskov said.

President Erdoğan has traveled to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit of Heads of State and Government.

It has been reported that Erdoğan will meet with Russian leader Putin, and the two leaders will discuss important and sensitive issues.

Turkey, which is a "dialogue partner" of the international organization, has been invited to the meeting. During the summit, Erdoğan is expected to discuss Turkey's relations with the organization's members, focusing on energy and trade, among other bilateral issues.

Erdoğan is also expected to attend an informal dinner hosted by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in honor of the heads of state in Astana.
