Joe Biden addresses current issues
Responding to criticisms about his age, President Joe Biden stated, “I’m only three years older than Trump and my mental state is very good.” He expressed frustration that the media focuses solely on his performance, pointing out that Trump lied 28 times during the political debate. “Why don’t you talk about Trump’s lies?” he asked.
In an interview with a private television channel, Biden discussed various current issues. He expressed shock over the assassination attempt on his Republican rival, Donald Trump, emphasizing that there is no place for violence in American politics.
Reflecting on his conversation with Trump after the incident, Biden said, “He was very sincere. I told him how concerned I was and wanted to make sure he was okay. He sounded good. He said he was fine and thanked me for calling.” When asked if the shooting would alter the course of the race, Biden responded, “I don’t know. You don’t know either.” Addressing security concerns, he mentioned, “I had two meetings in the Situation Room with the FBI and Secret Service. I requested an independent analysis from all of them. We’ll see what happens when the results come in.”

Biden also touched on his debate with Trump, admitting he hadn’t watched the entire debate afterward. Criticizing the media's focus on his performance, Biden said, “Why don’t you talk about the lies he told? Where are you on this? Why doesn’t the press mention it? It was confirmed that he lied 28 times during that debate.”
"I’M ONLY THREE YEARS OLDER THAN TRUMP"
Responding to calls for him to withdraw from the presidential race due to his age, Biden said, “I’m old. But I’m only three years older than Trump and my mental state is very good.” He added, “In three and a half years, I’ve done what no president has done in a long time. I understand why people say, ‘Oh my God, he’s 81 years old. What’s going to happen when he’s 83 or 84?’ That’s a reasonable question.” Biden reminded that Democratic voters had chosen him as the frontrunner during the primaries, stating, “I’m listening to them.”
When asked whom he consults about staying in the race or withdrawing, Biden replied, “Myself. I’ve been doing this a long time.”
CLARIFYING THE "TARGET" COMMENT
Addressing his comment during a July 8 call with donors where he said it was time to "put Trump in the target," Biden explained, “It was a mistake to use that word. I meant to say focus on him. Focus on what he’s doing. Focus on his policies, the number of lies he told in the debate.” Biden emphasized, “I’m not the guy who says ‘I want to be a dictator from day one.’ I’m not the guy who refuses to accept the election result. I’m not the guy who says he won’t automatically accept the election result. You can’t love your country only when you win. So, our focus was on what he said.”
"IT’S TRUMP WHO USES INCENDIARY LANGUAGE, NOT ME"
When asked if he had any moral reservations about using language that could be seen as provocative, Biden replied, “Don’t you say anything that might provoke someone?” He argued that it was Trump, not himself, who used incendiary language. “I haven’t used such language. My opponent uses such language. He talks about bloodbaths if he loses, how he’ll pardon everyone arrested and convicted for what happened at the Capitol,” Biden said.
