German foreign minister arrives in Kyiv on official visit
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on Monday arrived in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on an official visit.

A statement by Germany’s Federal Foreign Office said this is Baerbock’s eighth visit to the war-torn country since the start of Ukraine war in February 2022. She is expected to meet the top Ukrainian leadership.
Baerbock was quoted as saying upon her arrival that Ukrainians have shown “enormous resilience” despite various threats looming with the approaching winter months.
“With his war of attrition, (Russian President Vladimir) Putin wants to break the people of Ukraine, bring them to their knees with every attack,” Baerbock said.
“We are countering this brutality with our humanity and support, so that the Ukrainians can not only survive the winter, but so that their country can also survive. Because they are also defending our freedom in Europe,” she added.
