ECHR decision on Armenia: Azerbaijan to pay compensation
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled that the government of Baku must pay monetary compensation for the 2016 killing of three Armenian soldiers.
In its decision, the ECHR ordered Baku to pay a total of 32,000 Euros to the relatives of the three Armenian soldiers killed after an Azerbaijani soldier crossed the border in 2016. The court noted that the Baku government failed to conduct an "effective investigation" into the matter.

Addressing the application filed by the families of the Armenian soldiers killed at the border, the ECHR also ruled that Azerbaijan must pay an additional 5,560 Euros for costs, expenses, and taxes. It was determined that two of the soldiers killed in the incident on December 29, 2016, were unarmed.
The families had argued that the soldiers were "killed unlawfully" as there was no ongoing conflict at the time.
