11 killed in New Delhi factory fire
A fire at a paint factory in New Delhi killed at least 11 people and injured four others, officials reported on Friday.
Atul Garg, Delhi's chief fire officer, announced the death toll, stating that the fire department responded with 22 fire engines after receiving an alert on Thursday evening.
The blaze occurred in the Alipur area of the capital, officials indicated.
"An explosion led to the building's collapse, trapping workers inside the factory, making rescue impossible," Garg shared on X, noting that the victims were laborers.
The fire's cause remains undisclosed, with investigations ongoing, according to fire officials.
Additionally, the affected building contained chemical warehouses, from which charred remains have been recovered, as per the Press Trust of India.
