Turkiye declared a national day of mourning
Turkiye has declared a national day of mourning following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.

Presidential Announcement
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the declaration via social media, stating that Turkiye will observe a national day of mourning tomorrow.
In his post, Erdoğan said: "To show our support for the Palestinian Cause and solidarity with our Palestinian brothers, a national day of mourning has been declared tomorrow (Friday, August 2) following the martyrdom of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh."
Erdoğan extended his condolences: "We remember Ismail Haniyeh and all Palestinian martyrs with mercy, and on behalf of myself and our Nation, I offer my condolences to the Palestinian people."
