Turkey destroys 25 Kurdish militant targets in northern Syria, Iraq
Turkey conducted air strikes in northern Syria and Iraq, targeting 25 Kurdish militant positions, as announced by the Turkish Defense Ministry on Saturday.
The strikes were carried out in northern Syria and the Metina, Hakurk, and Qandil regions of northern Iraq at 9 p.m. (1800 GMT), according to the ministry.
The defense ministry stated that a significant number of militants were "neutralized" - a term generally used to indicate fatalities - in air strikes that destroyed 25 targets, including caves, shelters, and depots.
The announcement follows an incident on Friday, where nine Turkish soldiers were killed during a clash with members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
