The Great Leader of Turkiye commemorated globally
The 85th anniversary of the passing of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the esteemed founder of the Republic of Turkey, was marked with solemn ceremonies worldwide.
In Baku, Turkiye's Ambassador Cahit Bagci, accompanied by embassy staff, representatives of Turkish institutions, and students from Turkish educational institutions, participated in a ceremony held in front of the Ataturk Monument.
Fikri Ataoglu, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, also joined the ceremony. At 09:05, a minute of silence was observed, followed by the lowering of the Turkish flag at the embassy building near the monument to half-mast. Ataoglu and Ambassador Bagci laid a wreath at the monument, with the National Anthem resonating through the ceremony.
In his addressing, Ambassador Bagcı highlighted Ataturk's unifying leadership during the National Struggle for independence, emphasizing how Ataturk liberated Anatolia from enemy occupation, culminating in the establishment of the republic. Bagci praised Ataturk, saying he was a unique statesman and commander deeply connected to his nation, prioritizing independence, homeland safety, and love.
Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the republic, Bagci underscored Turkey's current status as one of the world's top 20 economies, with a population of 86 million and a gross national product exceeding one trillion dollars.
BEING COMMEMORATED IN AZERBAIJAN
TRNC Deputy Prime Minister Ataoglu, speaking to the press after the ceremony said; "The commemoration of the 85th anniversary of Ataturk's death in Azerbaijan signifies the unwavering loyalty of the entire Turkish nation to Ataturk. I pay my respects to Ataturk with a sense of mercy and gratitude. "
As part of the events honoring Ataturk, the Embassy in Baku hosted a painting exhibition by Azerbaijani artist Ramil Ahmedov and a photo exhibition on the centenary of the Republic of Turkey.
A COMMEMORATION CEREMONY WAS HELD AT THE BEIJING EMBASSY
In Beijing, Ambassador Ismail Hakkı Musa presided over a ceremony attended by embassy officials, representatives of Turkish institutions in China, Turkish citizens, and guests. The ceremony commenced with a moment of silence, the singing of the National Anthem, and a cinevision show depicting Ataturk's enduring impact.
Ambassador Musa, in his speech, paid tribute to Ataturk and his comrades-in-arms, highlighting their unwavering faith in the Turkish nation during challenging times. He stressed that the regional and global standing of Turkey today is a testament to the strong foundations laid by Ataturk's republic.
Musa emphasized the continued relevance of Ataturk's principles and reforms, noting their universal significance. He quoted Prof. Dr. Hu Cinhua, who acknowledged Ataturk's influence in China, stating, "There is almost no high school student in China who does not know Mustafa Kemal Ataturk."
At the end of his speech, Ambassador Musa expressed heartfelt commemoration for Atatürk, his comrades-in-arms, and all the martyrs who fought for independence.
