World’s No. 1 seed Swiatek stunned by Putintseva in women’s round at Wimbledon; Svitolina eliminates Jabeur
Putintseva to face Jelena Ostapenko from Latvia; Svitolina to take on Xinyu Wang from China in 4th round

The world’s No. 1 women’s tennis player, Iga Swiatek, was stunned Saturday by Yulia Putintseva at Wimbledon, while Elina Svitolina eliminated two-time tournament champion Ons Jabeur.
"It feels really great. I don’t know how I did it. I was focused on playing fast and not giving her any time and it worked," Putintseva from Kazakhstan said after knocking off the reigning French Open champion 3-6, 6-1, 6-2. "My coach told me to stay intense in every point. I’ve always been fired up since I was a kid."
Putintseva will face Jelena Ostapenko from Latvia in the fourth round.
Svitolina, who beat Jabeur in straight sets, said: "It’s not easy to play such a champion as Ons is. She had a great two finals here. Always very tricky to play her on the grass."
"It was really important to play one point at a time and focus. I played great tennis today and was happy with how I handled tough moments today," she added.
Svitolina will take on Xinyu Wang from China in the next round.
