UEFA decision on 'sex sounds' during EURO 2024 draw
UEFA has launched an investigation into unexpected "sex noises" that interrupted the live broadcast of the EURO 2024 draw.

UEFA has launched an investigation into unexpected "sex noises" that interrupted the live broadcast of the EURO 2024 draw in Hamburg, Germany. These sounds were heard during the selection of Switzerland into Group A with Scotland, Hungary, and Germany, mirroring a similar incident on a BBC program after a Wolverhampton vs. Liverpool FA Cup match. YouTube prankster Daniel Jarvis claimed responsibility, showcasing in a live video how he played the sounds using a phone.
UEFA Deputy General Secretary Giorgio Marchetti
During the draw, UEFA's Deputy General Secretary Giorgio Marchetti attempted to manage the situation, while England's coach Gareth Southgate expressed difficulty in understanding the event, suspecting it to be a joke. The draw set the stage for the championship, scheduled across ten German cities, with the opening match between Germany and Scotland at Munich Stadium and the final at Berlin Olympic Stadium.
The tournament will follow the same format as its predecessor, advancing the top two teams from each group and the four best third-placed teams to the last 16, leading to the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and the final. Turkey has been drawn into Group F, alongside Portugal, the Czech Republic, and a team to be decided from Play-off Path C.
