Two absent from Turkiye before Austria match
Ahead of their UEFA Euro 2024 Round of 16 match against Austria, the Turkish National Football Team was missing two key players, Samet Akaydin and Uğurcan Çakır, from their training session.
The team continued its preparations for the match against Austria, scheduled for Tuesday. The training session at the Barsinghausen camp, under the direction of head coach Vincenzo Montella, was open to the media for the first 15 minutes.
Two Players Miss Training
According to the Turkish Football Federation, Samet Akaydin, who is undergoing treatment for a muscle strain, did not participate in the training. Goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır also skipped the session as a precautionary measure.
The training began with warm-ups and running, followed by ball possession drills. During the part of the session closed to the media, the team worked on tactical preparations for the Austria match.
Montella and Mert Müldür to Speak
Mustafa Eröğüt, Vice President of the Turkish Football Federation, observed the training.
After completing their preparations in Barsinghausen, the Turkish National Team will travel to Leipzig, where the match against Austria will be played, at 5:30 PM Turkish time today. Head coach Vincenzo Montella and national player Mert Müldür will hold a press conference at Leipzig Stadium at 9:00 PM Turkish time. Before the conference, the team will take a short walk around the stadium.
