Turkiye faced Austria in the EURO 2024 Round of 16 match at Leipzig Stadium and emerged victorious with a 2-1 win.

Merih Demiral scored Turkey's winning goals in the 1st and 59th minutes. Austria's goal came from Gregoritsch in the 66th minute.

Demiral, who found the net in the 57th second, scored the fastest goal for Turkey in EURO tournaments. This goal also became the second fastest in European Championship history.

Additionally, Demiral became the first Turkish player since Nihat Kahveci (EURO 2008) to score twice in a European Championship match.
