Shock for Brazil in Copa America semifinals
In a dramatic Copa America quarterfinal match, Uruguay defeated Brazil 4-2 on penalties after a 0-0 draw in regular time to advance to the semifinals.
Uruguay faced Brazil in the quarterfinal match held at Allegiant Stadium.
The first 45 minutes of the game ended in a goalless draw.
In the second half, Uruguay's Nahitan Nandez received a red card after a VAR review for a harsh tackle on Rodrygo, leaving Uruguay with 10 men. However, Brazil failed to capitalize on this advantage, and the match went into extra time.
With no goals scored in extra time, the match proceeded to a penalty shootout. Uruguay triumphed 4-2 on penalties, securing their spot in the Copa America semifinals where they will face Colombia.
