Premier League weekend: Liverpool and Arsenal draw, West Ham defeats Manchester United
In the 18th week of the English Premier League, Liverpool drew 1-1 with Arsenal, while West Ham United secured a 2-0 victory over Manchester United on Saturday.
At Anfield, Arsenal's Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a header into the bottom left corner. Liverpool's Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, responded with an equalizer in the 29th minute, firing a shot into the top right corner.
Despite sustained pressure, Liverpool couldn't capitalize on their home advantage to take the lead. Arsenal remains at the top of the standings with 40 points, closely followed by Liverpool with 39 points.
In another match, West Ham United triumphed over Manchester United at London Stadium. English forward Jarrod Bowen broke the deadlock for West Ham in the 72nd minute with a bottom-right corner shot. Six minutes later, Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus doubled the lead, scoring in the same spot.
This loss, Manchester United's eighth in the league, drops them to the 8th position with 28 points. West Ham United's win elevates them to 6th place, accumulating 30 points.
