Hungary's last-minute win over Scotland
Hungary defeated Scotland 1-0 in their third match of Group A in EURO 2024, finishing third in the group.
In the Group A match held at Stuttgart Arena, Hungary emerged victorious with a late goal, securing a 1-0 win over Scotland.
The first half saw both teams playing ineffectively. Hungary increased their pressure in the second half and found the decisive goal in the final moments.
In the 90+10th minute, Hungary launched a swift counter-attack from their own half, with Csoboth scoring the winning goal in the dying seconds, keeping Hungary's hopes of advancing in EURO 2024 alive.
Varga Collapses on the Field
In the 69th minute, Hungarian player Barbanas Varga collapsed after a clash for an aerial ball.
Hungarian players formed a barrier around Varga and the medical staff to shield the scene from cameras. After receiving medical attention, Varga was stretchered off and taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Scotland Bids Farewell, Hungary Keeps Hope Alive
With this result, Scotland, with just 1 point from three matches, finished last in the group and exited the tournament. Hungary, with 3 points, finished third in the group.
Hungary now waits to see if they can advance to the next stage as one of the best third-placed teams, depending on the results of other matches.
