Galatasaray reclaims Super Lig lead: Besiktas defeated 1-0
In a closely fought Sunday derby, Galatasaray edged out Besiktas 1-0, reclaiming the top position in the Turkish Super Lig.
The decisive moment came just two minutes into the match at Istanbul's Tupras Stadium, when Besiktas midfielder Al-Musrati inadvertently scored an own goal, handing a crucial win to the Lions.
The match saw heightened drama towards the end when Galatasaray's Gambian defender, Omar Colley, received a red card following a VAR review in the 90th minute.
With this victory, Galatasaray now stands at 75 points, narrowly leading over Fenerbahce, which is close behind with 73 points. Besiktas, on the other hand, remains in fourth place, holding onto 46 points.
