In an official statement, the TFF declared:

"The Turkish Football Federation Executive Board met today and decided to make changes to the eligibility of players in the Professional Leagues.

Accordingly:

In the Trendyol Süper Lig, the number of players on the A Team List has been increased from 26 to 28, with 14 of these players allowed to be foreign nationals not eligible to play for the Turkish National Team. Additionally, the rule allowing 12 of these players to be listed on the Match Day Squad remains unchanged.

In the Trendyol 1st League, the number of foreign players not eligible to play for the Turkish National Team on the A Team List is set at 8. A maximum of 6 of these players can be on the field at the same time during a match.

For the TFF 2nd and 3rd Leagues, the player eligibility regulations from the 2023-2024 season will continue unchanged, with adjustments made for age eligibility.

Previous Quota Reduction Plan

Under the previous administration, the TFF had planned to reduce the number of foreign players on the A Team List from 14 to 12 for the 2024-2025 season, and then to 11 over the following two seasons.
