Fenerbahçe leaves the tie to Kadıköy: Lille 2-1 Fenerbahçe
In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round, Fenerbahçe faced Lille away and suffered a 2-1 defeat. Fenerbahçe's lone goal was scored by İrfan Can Kahveci.

Under the management of Jose Mourinho, Fenerbahçe lost 2-1 to Bruno Genesio's Lille team in the first match of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.
The match at Hainaut Stadium saw the home team Lille take the lead in the 12th minute with an own goal by Jayden Oosterwolde. Fenerbahçe equalized in the 79th minute with a free-kick goal from İrfan Can Kahveci. Lille secured the victory with a goal by Edon Zhegrova in the 90+1 minute.
SECOND LEG IN KADIKÖY
With this result, Fenerbahçe handed the advantage to their opponent for advancing to the Champions League play-off round.
The second leg of the tie will be played on Tuesday, August 13 at 20:00 at Fenerbahçe's Ülker Stadium.
