Albania and Croatia share the spoils in exciting 2-2 draw
Albania and Croatia ended in a 2-2 draw in their European Championship Group B match.
In the second week of Group B matches of the European Championship, Albania faced Croatia at Volkspark Stadium. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
In the 11th minute, Mitaj advanced down the left wing, beat his defender, and switched play to the opposite flank. Jasir Asani received the ball on the right, created space, and delivered a cross. Qazim Laçi rose well at the penalty spot and headed the ball into the net, giving Albania a 1-0 lead.
From that moment, Croatia controlled the game, but Albania remained dangerous with quick counterattacks.
In the 31st minute, Ramadani won the ball in his half and swiftly moved forward, passing to Bajrami. Bajrami advanced quickly from midfield, beat a defender, and passed to Asani, whose powerful shot inside the penalty area was saved by Livakovic.
Albania continued to create opportunities through fast counterattacks, but Dominik Livakovic consistently denied them goals.
