Zara to reopen in Ukraine after two-year absence
Ukraine announced on Friday that brands under the Spanish multinational fashion company Inditex, including Zara, will soon make a comeback in the country, marking a significant return of international businesses since the onset of conflict.
Inditex, the owner of brands such as Zara, Pull & Bear, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, and Bershka, had shut its Ukrainian stores on February 24, 2022, following the commencement of Russia's "special military operation."
According to a statement by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on Telegram, Inditex's re-entry into the Ukrainian market follows the revival of other major brands like McDonald's and H&M.
The ministry emphasized that the return of these international companies not only generates new employment opportunities and ensures access to quality goods and services but also supports Ukraine's economy during wartime.
Additionally, it enhances Ukraine's integration into the global economy and bolsters the confidence of international businesses and investors in the nation's resilience and prospective victory.
