Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose faces sexual assault lawsuit
Axl Rose, the frontman of Guns N' Roses, is facing a lawsuit filed by former model Sheila Kennedy, alleging sexual assault and battery that took place in 1989.
The lawsuit, which arrived just before the expiration of a law allowing survivors of sexual assault to file suits, claims that Rose violently attacked Kennedy in a New York hotel room, leading to her diagnosis of anxiety and depression.
Kennedy's lawsuit seeks damages from Rose, citing intentional infliction of emotional distress and gender-motivated violence. Her legal team has called for a jury trial, while Rose's representatives have not responded to requests for comment.
The lawsuit outlines that Kennedy, a 26-year-old model for Penthouse magazine at the time, met Rose at a New York City nightclub in 1989. Allegedly, Rose physically and sexually assaulted her in his hotel suite later that night.
Rose's attorney, Alan S. Gutman, strongly denied Kennedy's claims, asserting that the incident never occurred and that Rose had no recollection of meeting Kennedy.
Kennedy's lawsuit also brings up past allegations against Rose, including accusations of physical abuse by former partners Erin Everly and Stephanie Seymour, adding to the complexities of this legal battle.
