Cardi B announces split from her husband Offset
Cardi B has revealed that she is seeking "a new beginning" following her separation from her husband, Offset, the rapper announced.
In an Instagram Live video shared by a pop culture account, The Bongos rapper candidly admitted, "I've been single for a while now... I want to kick off 2024 with a clean slate."
This development may signal the end of the couple's five-year marriage. Offset, the Migos rapper, has not yet made any public statements regarding his separation from his wife.
Speaking to her followers on Sunday night, Cardi B shared, "I don't know if you've picked up on hints from my recent Instagram posts, my live sessions, or my stories where I've shared certain music or made some unfollowings... I've been single for some time now... I'm just unsure of how to break the news to the world."
The Bodak Yellow rapper continued, "I'm looking forward to starting 2024 with a fresh, open perspective. I don't know, I'm eager for a new life, a new beginning."
This announcement comes after Offset's denial of accusations by rapper Blueface, who claimed Offset had an affair with his former partner. "I have never spoken to or had any involvement with that woman," Offset stated in a tweet.
The separation also coincides with reports of the couple unfollowing each other on Instagram last week.
Cardi B and Offset, whose legal names are Belcalis and Kiari Cephus, have experienced a tumultuous relationship since their marriage in 2017. Both Cardi B and Offset confirmed their separation in December 2018, only to reconcile later on. In September 2020, it was reported that Cardi B had filed for divorce, but she called it off after reconciling with her husband.
The couple shares two children, a six-year-old daughter named Kulture and a two-year-old son named Wave.
