Turkish stock market: Weekly close sees decline in BIST 100 index
The Turkish benchmark stock index, BIST 100, ended the week lower, closing at 10,218.58 points on Friday, a decrease of 0.49% from the previous close.
The index began the day at 10,276.76 points, dropping 50 points from Thursday's close. During the day, it fluctuated between a low of 10,218.58 and a high of 10,364.60.
By the end of trading, 45 indices had increased in value, while 54 experienced declines.
Transaction volume for the day reached 111.3 billion Turkish Liras ($3.45 billion), bringing the total market value of the index to approximately 8.8 trillion Liras ($272.8 billion).
Currency exchange rates saw the USD/TRY at 32.2060, the EUR/TRY at 34.6840, and the GBP/TRY at 40.3070 as of 6:30 PM local time (1530 GMT).
In commodities, the price of one ounce of gold stood at $2,363.60, and Brent oil was priced at around $83.40 per barrel.
