Turkish stock market opens the week on a positive note
The Turkish benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, began the week with a promising increase, opening on Monday at 9,139.11 points. This marks a rise of 0.46%, or 41.96 points, from the previous session's close.
At the end of last week, the BIST 100 index experienced a decline of 1.66%, closing at 9,097.15 points, with a daily trading volume of 109 billion Turkish liras ($3.47 billion).
In the currency market, the US dollar to Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was recorded at 31.4195 by 10:20 a.m. local time (0720GMT). The euro to Turkish lira (EUR/TRY) exchange rate stood at 34.0440, and the British pound to Turkish lira (GBP/TRY) exchange rate was at 39.7920.
In commodities, gold was priced at $2,093.85 per ounce, while Brent oil was trading around $83.50 per barrel.
