Turkish stock exchange up at midweek opening
BIST 100 index gains 48.48 points at Wednesday open
The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 10,494.72 points, rising 0.46% or 48.48 points from the previous close.
On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 1% to 10,446.24 points with a daily transaction volume of 76 billion liras ($2.33 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 32.6110 as of 9.51 a.m. (0651GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 35.0323, and the GBP/TRY rate was 41.3628.
The price of one ounce of gold was $2,346.15, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $86.72.
