Turkey's benchmark stock index started Tuesday on a positive note, opening at 8,094.73 points, a 0.09% or 7.49-point increase from Monday's close. The Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index ended Monday at 8,087.24 points, marking a 0.76% gain, with a trading volume of 88 billion Turkish liras (about $3.05 billion).
Currency rates showed the US dollar at 28.9160 Turkish lira as of 09:55 a.m. local time (0655GMT). The euro traded at 31.3480 against the lira, while the British pound was valued at 36.5315 Turkish liras.
In commodities, Brent crude oil was priced at approximately $78.15 per barrel. The price of an ounce of gold stood at $2,051.75.
