Turkish stock exchange opens week looking up
BIST 100 index gains 44.83 points at Tuesday opening
The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 11,109.68 points, rising 0.41% or 44.83 points from the previous close.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 0.37% to a record closing level of 11,064.85 points with a daily transaction volume of 101 billion liras ($3.06 billion),
The US dollar/Turkish lira (USD/TRY) exchange rate was 33.0461 as of 9.53 a.m. local time (0653GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 36.0241, and the GBP/TRY rate was 42.8153.
The price of one ounce of gold was $2,437.40, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $84.27.
Borsa Istanbul was closed on Monday as the country observed Democracy and National Unity Day to mark eighth anniversary of the July 15, 2016 defeated coup.
