Turkish stock exchange opens Friday looking up
BIST 100 index gains 10.80 points at opening session
The Turkish benchmark stock index opened Friday at 11,035.13 points, up 0.10% or 10.80 points from the previous close.
On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index surged 2.62% to an all-time closing high of 11,024.33 points with a daily transaction volume of 103.9 billion liras ($3.16 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 33.0061 as of 9.53 a.m. local time (0653GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 35.8586, while a British pound traded for 42.5978 liras.
The price of one ounce of gold was $2,407.85, and the barrel price of Brent oil was around $85.89.
