Turkish stock exchange opens flat
The Turkish stock exchange began the week with modest changes, as the benchmark index saw a slight increase of 6.5 points in Monday's opening session.
Starting the day at 7,920.28 points, the BIST 100 index edged up by 0.08% from its previous close.
On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index ended the trading day at 7,913.76 points, declining by 0.82%. The day's trading volume totaled 75 billion Turkish Liras, equivalent to approximately $2.57 billion.
Currency markets showed the US dollar trading at 28.9840 Turkish liras as of 10:02 a.m. local time (0702GMT), while the euro was valued at 31.2160 liras. The British pound was trading at 36.3430 Turkish liras.
In commodity markets, Brent crude oil was priced at around $76.50 per barrel. Meanwhile, gold was trading at $2,014.65 per ounce.
