Turkish BIST 100 index opens week with gains
Turkey's benchmark stock index opened Monday on an upbeat note.
Turkey's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, opened Monday on an upbeat note, reaching 8,056.72 points, a 0.38% increase, or 30.45 points higher than the previous close.
The index closed at 8,026.27 points on Friday, up by 0.98%, with a trading volume of 81 billion Turkish liras, roughly $2.8 billion. Currency rates saw the US dollar/Turkish lira exchange at 28.9412, the euro/lira at 31.4713, and the British pound at 36.6787 Turkish liras as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
In commodities, Brent crude oil was trading around $78.12 per barrel, while gold was priced at $2,095.20 per ounce.
