Turkey's BIST 100 index closes week on a high note
The BIST 100, Turkey's benchmark stock index, closed the week positively, settling at 7,959.95 points, a 0.78% increase from its previous close.
Opening at 7,902.36 points, the Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 rose by 61.36 points from Thursday's close, marking a 1.36% weekly gain as of Friday.
Throughout the day, the index fluctuated between a low of 7,851.34 and a peak of 7,996.08.
By the close of the market, the BIST 100's total market value reached approximately 6.8 trillion liras ($235.1 billion), accompanied by a daily trading volume of 79 billion liras ($2.74 billion).
In commodities, gold traded at $1,999.05 per ounce, while Brent crude oil was priced around $81.91 per barrel as of 7:18 p.m. local time.
Regarding foreign exchange, the US dollar to Turkish lira rate stood at 28.8758, the euro to lira at 31.5841, and the British pound was trading at 35.4150 liras.
