The pilot safely ejected from the aircraft and is reported to be in stable condition, according to Yonhap News, based in Seoul.

The incident involved a jet from the 8th Fighter Wing stationed at Kunsan Air Base, located approximately 180 kilometers (112 miles) to the south of Seoul. The crash occurred at around 8:41 a.m. and was attributed to an 'in-flight emergency,' as stated by the US Air Force.

Notably, this marks the third F-16 crash in South Korea within a year. In the previous month, an F-16 fighter jet went down in the Yellow Sea during routine training, while in May of the preceding year, another F-16 fighter jet had crashed near Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek, as reported by the agency.
