Former U.S. President Donald Trump, during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stated, "We are now closer to World War III than we have ever been since World War II."
cumhuriyet.com.trMeeting at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, Trump made several statements. The Republican presidential candidate criticized Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris's comments on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, saying, "I think her words were disrespectful. They weren't very nice to Israel. I don’t know how someone who is actually Jewish could vote for her. But that's up to them. To me, she was definitely disrespectful to Israel."
Addressing the situation in the Middle East, Trump said, "If we win, everything will be very simple. Everything will fall into place quickly. If we don't win, we will face major wars in the Middle East and possibly a third world war. We are now closer to World War III than we have ever been since World War II. We have never been this close because our country is being run by incompetent people."
Harris, during her meeting with Netanyahu, highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, saying, "I expressed my serious concerns about the dire humanitarian situation where over 2 million people are struggling to access food and half a million are facing hunger."
Describing the events in Gaza over the past nine months as "devastating," Harris recalled the deaths of children and the desperate, hungry people displaced multiple times for their safety. "We cannot ignore this tragedy. We cannot become numb to the suffering, and I will not remain silent," she stated.
