Spain to recognize Palestinian state by summer, says Prime Minister
Spain is set to officially recognize the State of Palestine "before the summer," announced Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. This statement came during an informal discussion with journalists on his Middle East trip, as reported by local media.
cumhuriyet.com.trPreviously, on March 9, Sanchez revealed his intention to propose the recognition of a Palestinian state to Spain's parliament.
This move aligns with a recent joint statement from the leaders of Spain, Ireland, Slovenia, and Malta, declaring their intention to recognize a Palestinian state.
They emphasized that a two-state solution, where Israeli and Palestinian states coexist in peace and security, is the only path to enduring peace and stability in the region.
