Frankfurt Airport shuts down departures due to strike
Frankfurt Airport, Germany's busiest hub, will halt departures on Thursday as a security staff strike, organized by the Verdi union, forces a shutdown, announced the airport's operator on Wednesday.
cumhuriyet.com.trFraport, the operator, has advised passengers originating their journey from Frankfurt not to travel to the airport on March 7 and to get in touch with their airline for further instructions.
This strike is part of broader labor actions across Germany, affecting the nation's railways and Lufthansa's ground staff as well.
The disruptions come amidst a series of industrial actions challenging Europe's largest economy, exacerbated by high inflation and labor shortages that have intensified wage negotiations and led to frequent strikes within the travel industry.
