France sends 50 armored vehicles to Armenia
French senators are urging the government to consider sending CAESAR self-propelled howitzers to Armenia, alongside other weapons recently shipped, as detailed in a French Senate defense budget bill.
cumhuriyet.com.trAccording to Armenpress, The bill reveals plans for Armenia to receive 50 Arquus Bastion armored personnel carriers, with 24 already in transit and the remainder in production.
Armenia has also acquired Thales-made GM 200 radars and Mistral 3 air defense systems from France.
Senators Hugues Saury and Helene Conway-Mouret emphasized the urgency of responding to Armenian defense requests, particularly for artillery. They recommend evaluating the delivery of CAESAR artillery systems promptly, noting the effectiveness of this equipment and Nexter's increased production capacity in 2024. This recommendation is part of their proposal for the 2024 budget, emphasizing the need for timely support and avoiding the mistakes seen in Ukraine by delaying necessary equipment.
