Erdoğan: Turkiye will continue to support Palestine's just cause

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, leader of the AKP, held a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the Presidential Complex in Ankara. The discussions centered on Israel's massacres in Palestinian territories, the necessary steps for a permanent ceasefire and peace, and recent developments.

According to a statement from the Communications Directorate, President Erdoğan emphasized during the meeting that Turkiye would continue to support Palestine's just cause. He also stated that Turkiye would persist in efforts to stop Israel and increase international pressure on the country.

The statement from the Communications Directorate read as follows:

"Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the Presidential Complex. The discussions focused on Israel's massacres in Palestinian territories, the necessary steps for a permanent ceasefire and peace, and recent developments.

During the meeting, President Erdoğan reiterated Turkiye's commitment to supporting Palestine's rightful cause. He also emphasized that Turkiye would continue to work towards halting Israel's actions and increasing international pressure on Israel. President Erdoğan pointed out that Israel continues to massacre civilians, including babies, in Gaza, displace innocent Palestinians, target schools, hospitals, and shelters, and condemn people to hunger and thirst. He stated that the silence of some Western countries and their continued support for Israel is unacceptable.

President Erdoğan further stressed the need for all countries, especially those in the Islamic world, to intensify their efforts to secure an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinians. He also expressed his satisfaction with President Abbas’s scheduled address to the Turkish Grand National Assembly tomorrow."
