Bryza: Zangazur Corridor Won't Harm Georgia's Transit
Matthew Bryza: The opening of the Zangezur corridor will not have a negative impact on Georgia's transit business.
cumhuriyet.com.trMatthew Bryza, serving on the Jamestown Foundation's Board of Directors and a former US envoy to Azerbaijan, reassured at the Caspian Week Forum 2023 in Dubai that the inauguration of the Zangezur corridor poses no risk to Georgia's transit sector.
Addressing concerns, Bryza, an established international expert said, "Georgian friends express unease about the Zangezur Corridor's potential adverse effects on their transit trade. However, such fears are unfounded. The corridor's activation will reroute a majority of logistics through the South Caucasus, benefiting all involved."
Bryza further highlighted the regional significance of the corridor, emphasizing its role in bolstering the transit capabilities of key regional entities: "The corridor will notably contribute to Nakhchivan's progress and create new avenues for Azerbaijan and Turkey."
