Belgian police launch manhunt after gunmen open fire near metro station
Belgian police launched a manhunt in Brussels on Wednesday after gunmen opened fire near Clemenceau metro station in Anderlecht, causing major disruptions to the city’s transport network.

No injuries were reported, and initial investigations suggest the incident is linked to drug trafficking, according to the RTBF broadcaster.
Federal police, railway police, and special units have joined local forces in the operation. A command post has been established at Anderlecht’s town hall.
The suspects reportedly escaped through metro tunnels, prompting authorities to halt services on lines 2 and 6 between Trone and Gare de l’Ouest since 6:30 am. The disruption has also affected tram lines 4, 10, 51, and 82.
Search operations in the metro tunnels are expected to continue for several hours due to the complex layout.
