Turkish police in Istanbul have apprehended Shamil Amirov, a key figure in the "Thieves in Law" organized crime group active in Russia, announced Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya. Amirov, sought by Interpol under a blue notice for fraud, was captured during "Operation Cage-15."

Yerlikaya revealed that the Istanbul Anti-Organized Crime Branch Directorate located Amirov in the city's Sariyer district. Emphasizing Turkey's commitment to combating organized crime, Yerlikaya declared, “We are determined to eradicate international and national organized crime groups from our country. We will relentlessly pursue and bring each one to justice.”
