Turkey delivers humanitarian aid to Gaza: Military transport plane arrives in Jordan
Turkey dispatched a military transport plane to Jordan loaded with humanitarian aid for Gaza, the Turkish National Defense Ministry announced on Monday.
cumhuriyet.com.tr"The health supplies prepared for our brothers and sisters in Gaza were transported to Jordan on an A400M aircraft from the 12th Air Transport Main Base Command in Kayseri," stated the ministry on X.
Turkey remains committed to supporting Palestine, promising to continue its efforts to provide comprehensive humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
Following a cross-border incursion by Hamas on October 7, Israel initiated a severe offensive against the Gaza Strip. The resulting Israeli attacks have resulted in 30,534 deaths and 71,920 injuries, along with widespread destruction and shortages of essential supplies.
The conflict has driven 85% of Gaza's population to internal displacement, facing severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine. Additionally, 60% of the enclave's infrastructure is reported damaged or destroyed, as per the United Nations.
Israel is currently facing accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice. An interim ruling in January demanded that Tel Aviv cease its genocidal actions and ensure that humanitarian aid reaches Gaza's civilians.
