Places to Visit in Ahlat

Seljuk Cemetery: Also known as Meydanlık Cemetery, the Seljuk Cemetery in Ahlat is the district's top tourist attraction. Spanning a wide area between Ikikubbe Neighborhood and Harabesehir, it contains thousands of tombstones dating from the 12th to the 16th century.

Ahlat Museum: Opened in 1971, Ahlat Museum is a must-visit in the district, housing artifacts from the Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman, Hellenistic, Seljuk, and Ottoman periods. The museum, the only one in the vicinity, has moved to a new building next to the Seljuk Cemetery and was completed in 2015.

Emir Bayındır Tomb and Mosque: Located in Ikikubbe Neighborhood, the tomb was built towards the end of the 15th century and is notable for its base and body design.

Double Tomb: In the Ikikubbe Neighborhood, the Double Tomb, built in 1280, features two adjacent tombs belonging to figures from the Akkoyunlus era.

Nemrut Crater Lake: Situated within the boundaries of Tatvan and Ahlat, the lake is mostly in Ahlat. It can be reached by taxi or minibus from Ahlat, located 25 kilometers from the district center.

Ruined City: The Ahlat Cave Houses enhance the district's tourism value, with over 500 caves discovered through research, dating back to the Neolithic Period. These caves are primarily located in an area known as the Ruined City.
