Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that two organized crime groups were dismantled and 55 suspects were arrested in the "Mahzen-3" operations conducted in Osmaniye.
cumhuriyet.com.trIn a statement made on social media, Yerlikaya revealed that the operations simultaneously targeted two organized crime groups led by Murat Özdemir and Cengiz Arslan. These operations successfully dismantled the groups, resulting in the arrest of 55 members, including the leaders. The suspects were involved in crimes such as forming an organization for the purpose of committing crimes, deprivation of liberty, attempted murder, threats, assault, shooting at residences and businesses, endangering public safety deliberately, resisting law enforcement officers, and trafficking drugs and stimulants. The operation also led to the seizure of six unlicensed handguns, three rifles, 1.5 kilograms of drugs, numerous bullets, and a significant amount of money.
Yerlikaya expressed a strong message against those who threaten public peace, stating that the authorities will not allow organized crime groups and gangs any leeway, regardless of their size. "We will dismantle organized crime groups and bring them to justice. There is no place for you on our streets," he said.
Minister Yerlikaya also commended the Osmaniye Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the police officers who carried out the operations.
