Produced in the high pastures of Bitlis, known for its rich flora, the honey was entered into the competition by local beekeeper Serdar Nevzat Ersan.

After undergoing laboratory analyses and tests, Bitlis honey exceeded the standards for proline, pollen, and diastase values, distinguishing itself among nearly 200 honey varieties from 45 countries to win the "Golden Honey" award.

Ersan shared with journalists that their honey, produced according to organic farming principles, has once again been honored with the "Golden Honey" award in Paris. He recalled winning the same award in London last year and expressed pride in bringing the "Golden Honey" award to their region twice. "Our hive honey stood out among approximately 200 entries from 45 countries. The unique and valuable quality of our honey is largely attributed to our pastures, which are home to hundreds of endemic and medicinal plants," Ersan stated.
